Liposuction can correct localized accumulations of subcutaneous fat. The method is not suitable for general weight loss.

Before treatment

In order to remove the tissue, immediate pretreatment is necessary. Regardless of the device used for suction (suction pump, vibrating suction device, water jet), the individual regions are injected with a liquid.

This causes the entire tissue to swell, the fat cells loosen and can be suctioned out with a cannula.

The areas to be treated are marked, disinfected, then the diluent is injected (it already contains an anesthetic and a vasoconstrictor).

The procedure

It takes about half an hour for the medication to take effect, then a cannula is inserted into the subcutaneous fat tissue through 5mm incisions and the fat is suctioned out. The effect lasts for about 4-5 hours, during which time you will be pain-free.

The mechanical removal of fatty tissue is a strenuous procedure. Therefore, the industry has designed tools to facilitate the work of the plastic surgeon:

Laser liposuction: A small cannula (tube) with a diameter of approximately 1-2 mm, containing a laser beam, is inserted under the skin. The back-and-forth movement of the cannula allows the laser beam’s energy to act directly on the fat cells, breaking them up and flushing them away. The laser beam also affects the subcutaneous tissue, where it reduces the number of fat fibers.

VASER liposuction:
Various cannulas and techniques are used in liposuction. Vaser® liposuction with microcannulas is one of the newest techniques and is particularly popular due to the 1-2 mm thin cannulas used in the procedure. These thin cannulas allow the surgeon to target fat cells even more precisely and effectively. They cause less swelling and bruising and ensure a faster recovery. After Vaser® liposuction with microcannulas, the risk of skin irregularities is even lower than with other liposuction methods.

After the treatment

Afterwards, there is practically no discomfort for about two days, then it feels like muscle soreness. Compression garments must be worn for approximately six weeks. This closes the cavities that were created by the removal of the fatty tissue.

For the first two days, larger amounts of fluid will come out of the injection sites; this is the residue of the diluent, mixed with a little blood. This is completely normal.

Argon J Plasma liposuction:

This firming treatment is even more effective when the proportion of fat cells in the tissue is low. A thicker layer of fat results in greater energy absorption, which can lead to less tightening of the connective tissue fibers. Simply put, lighter tissue is easier to tighten than heavier tissue.

For this reason, the procedure is usually performed after liposuction. The fine cannula is inserted through the same small incision used for the vibrating cannula during the previous liposuction and can easily glide through the loosened tissue from the liposuction, distributing the energy evenly. This allows for gentle tightening without additional scarring.
