One of our main services is holiday dialysis, through which we provide optimal care for holiday patients in the “Canakkale” vacation region.

Rehabilitation trips, whether alone or with family/friends, are of great health significance for people with kidney diseases.

We promise a complete wellness program, as our hygiene and health standards fully comply with Central European regulations.

Daily treatment slots are reserved for our holiday guests to ensure they maintain their usual treatment schedule. It is recommended to arrange appointments in advance during peak holiday periods, as we aim to offer each guest a certain degree of flexibility.

For the start of treatment, we require the current medical report of our patients. For our patients from German-speaking countries, the statutory health insurance covers up to 6 weeks of dialysis costs abroad annually. We recommend that our patients obtain the cost coverage confirmation from their statutory health insurance before embarking on their trip. At no additional cost, we can obtain the cost coverage confirmation from your health insurance, provided you are insured with a statutory health insurance in Germany (and partly in Switzerland and Austria), and settle the costs directly with your insurance after your holiday.

HEMODIALYSIS
Hemodialysis refers to the removal of fluids and dissolved molecules from the extracorporeally circulating blood through filtration systems that contain a semipermeable membrane. Hemodialysis is a type of renal replacement therapy and is the most commonly used method.

The most important element of hemodialysis is the so-called dialyzer. In it, blood flows through a fine system of plastic capillaries, which are surrounded by a dialysis fluid. As the blood moves through the capillaries, it releases small molecular components through the pores in the capillary wall along the concentration gradient, transferring into the rinse fluid and thus being removed from the blood. Plasma proteins and blood cells, on the other hand, remain in the blood plasma. It is particularly important that hemodialysis requires a strict treatment regimen, regular medication intake, and a dietary change.

Hemodialysis is a great responsibility, but you don’t have to manage it alone. The doctors and dialysis specialists on our team speak both German and English and have many years of experience in dialysis, nephrology, and internal medicine. For over 16 years, we have provided excellent medical care, and cooperation with nearby hospitals is a matter of course.

WHERE EXACTLY IS KÜCÜKKUYU?
The small town of Küçükkuyu (8,012 inhabitants, 2013) is located in the province of Çanakkale, near Ayvalik. Lovers of ancient sites will find plenty to explore here. According to legend, Zeus is said to have observed the Battle of Troy from a hill in this area. Aphrodite is believed to have discovered the healing spring waters here. One of the famous ancient works of the Temple of Athena is also located in the region.

The most beautiful remnants of the temple, built in the 6th century BC at a height of 238 meters, are dispersed between the museums in Boston and Istanbul. However, archaeologists have been diligently working for years to restore the remaining columns around the sanctuary. The silhouette of the temple complex at sunset is truly stunning.

The long-hidden city has managed to become a tourist paradise, as its location by the sea has transformed the former fishing village of Küçükkuyu into a popular holiday destination with sandy beaches and numerous hotels. In the center of Küçükkuyu lies Turkey’s only olive oil museum, the Adatepe Olive Oil Museum (Adatepe Zeytinyağı Müzesi).

HOW CAN YOU TRAVEL TO KUCUKKUYU?
It’s very simple, you fly to Istanbul (on the European side) and then take either a domestic flight or a bus ride of about 5 hours to Çanakkale.
