Experience report LASIK ISTANBUL/Turkey – Report from Monday, June 25, 2007

Hallo,

I AM A NEW PERSON!!! I returned from Istanbul yesterday (Saturday, June 23, 2007) and I have to say, it’s a whole new lease on life! After wearing glasses and contact lenses for about 17 years, I had had enough and decided to have laser surgery. After a long search and lots of research, I came across SWISSLASIK.CH. And I have to say, it was the best decision of my life!!! From the first contact to the surgery and finally returning home, everything was so perfectly organized… I have to say… HATS OFF!!! The care was so great, I NEVER felt alone.

Mr. Karaagacli-Leoni organized everything so wonderfully from Switzerland that everything went smoothly (preliminary examination in Zurich, flight to Istanbul, hotel reservation, support from the team in Istanbul, the surgery, aftercare, and finally the return flight). Thanks to the German-speaking support in Istanbul, there were NEVER any problems.

On the day of the operation, Mr. Elik picked us up at the hotel at 12:30 p.m. and took us to the clinic, which was only a few meters away from the hotel. One after another, we were called in for a preliminary examination. The long wait was made more pleasant with plenty of tea, coffee, and other treats. We were also able to watch TV or surf the Internet on our own laptops (provided by EYEStar). After the preliminary examination, we had about an hour to go out for something to eat, which would not have been possible for many of us afterwards.

Later, we were all taken to the waiting lounge (very comfortable), where we waited for our surgery. After a short time, I was called. I went into the antechamber, where I was allowed to sit down in a super massage chair. Awesome thing! There, my eyes were cleaned and disinfected. After a short time, I was on the operating table. And I have to say, I didn’t think it would be so quick. I never felt any pain. It felt more like pressure on my eye. The only thing I found uncomfortable was the application of the eye spreader (to prevent blinking). But it was no big deal. The actual laser treatment only took a few seconds and then it was all over. The whole thing was then repeated on the other eye. After about 15 minutes, it was all over! After a short time in a relaxation room, I was taken back to the others who were waiting for me there. There, we were observed for a while to see how everything was going. We were given eye drops and tea again. And here, too, I have to say that the care was FIRST-CLASS!!!

Apart from watery eyes and a slight burning sensation, I didn’t feel anything. After a quick check-up by the doctor, we had to go to our hotel room to rest or sleep.

The next morning everything was over. I got up and I could see!!! WOW!!! What a feeling. I was happy and could hardly believe it. After a short follow-up examination at the clinic, we were all sent off into a new life without glasses and contact lenses!!

I spent the remaining time sightseeing and shopping in Istanbul until the next morning, when Mr Elik picked me up and took me to the airport.

Now a few more things about my hotel.

I stayed at the CRYSTAL Hotel. Overall, I was satisfied. Only the breakfast did not taste good at all! But I think, considering all the other success, that is something you can put up with!! The rooms were clean and quiet, and the service was also good.

All in all, I am glad that I took this step, and I would do it again!!!
