My LASIK surgery in ISTANBUL – Report from Monday, December 29, 2008
I am a sporty person. In my free time, I like to train in Kung Fu, swim a lot, or jog through forests. With a dioptre of 3 and 3.5, I unfortunately always had to rely on wearing glasses. Especially during Kung Fu training, the glasses were often in the way. Occasionally, they even flew across the training room. Even outside in the rain, all activities were made more difficult by poor vision.
For these reasons, I researched laser surgery and studied various offers and providers. My sister had surgery in Switzerland years ago and is still very satisfied with the result. My friend had her eye surgery in Turkey with colleagues, and she could only rave about the good results. Unfortunately, nowadays health insurance only covers very small or no contributions. I therefore also felt compelled to compare prices and was quite surprised by the difference. The price-performance ratio is clearly best in Turkey.
I then looked more closely at the Swisslasik offer online and discussed it with my friend. It made a very professional impression on me, so I decided to have an eye examination through Swisslasik with an ophthalmologist in Zurich. When he gave the green light for eye surgery and answered all my questions, it was clear to me that I had to undergo this operation.
I was looking forward to Istanbul and was very pleased with the excellent organisation on site. The hotel with its beautiful wellness area, the good location, and the nearby sights made Istanbul an unforgettable trip for us.
Above all, the support during the operation in Swiss German was a great help to me. I felt well cared for the entire time, and after the operation, I was amazed at how quickly my eyes recovered. For me, it was almost unbelievable – this quick procedure on Saturday afternoon and back at the hospital on Monday morning.
One thing has stayed with me – the man from the pick-up service told us: enjoy these days, see it as a city trip, and by the way, this operation will quickly take place. That is exactly how it was for us… Now I am looking forward to an active life without glasses.
