Experience report: Swisslasik – report from Tuesday, 5 February 2013
I had been considering laser eye surgery for some time. Since my vision without glasses was very poor and I could no longer wear contact lenses due to an eye infection, my desire to see again without glasses grew, as they had become very bothersome. I thought to myself that I had nothing to lose—my vision was already poor, so things could only improve. I was introduced to Swisslasik by two colleagues who had already undergone laser eye surgery themselves. At the same time, I did my own research online. The reports from my colleagues were very positive, and both are very satisfied with the results and would do it again. This naturally encouraged me. I obtained the necessary documents, had a pre-examination in Switzerland which confirmed that I was suitable for the laser procedure, and decided to go ahead with Swisslasik. Of course, the price was also an important factor for me. I am extremely satisfied with the price-performance ratio.
I am very impressed and pleased with the professional, fast, and efficient organisation by Swisslasik—my entire laser travel programme was arranged within a few days. The personal, telephone contact was also positive. From the start, I could rely on the company. I also want to mention positively that I was well supported throughout the three days. It was very reassuring to always have someone by my side to translate everything and offer some assistance. I undertook this three-day trip alone, and I have to say Swisslasik designed it so that it could be managed independently. The organisation of the flight, hotel, and so on went smoothly, except for a small misunderstanding regarding transport to the hotel on my arrival. I took a taxi, but the cost was reimbursed the next day.
The clinic gave me a very good, modern, and professional impression. The doctors know what they are doing, and you feel well cared for. They truly take care of you, and you are well looked after. I also found it very positive to have a German-speaking person by my side. The doctors also appeared very professional to me. Before the operation, I felt very anxious—after all, this is not just any procedure, it’s on the eyes. I was very nervous. The procedure itself was very quick, and I was visibly relieved while waiting in the recovery room with the protective glasses for my first follow-up. Honestly, I was a little skeptical. In the first few hours after the surgery, my eyes watered heavily, and I hoped this would soon subside. A few hours later, however, I could already see the success—literally. Before the procedure, I was practically blind, only able to see a few centimetres. Now I could see normally without glasses, and everything was sharp. Fantastic—I am thrilled with the result.
