My recommendation for my dental correction in Istanbul, Turkey

Experience report with MedicalTravel from November 2022 by Siegfried Schätti from Switzerland

For the second time, I was able to make use of MedicalTravel’s services for my dental treatment in Istanbul in autumn 2022.

The organisation of the flight with Pegasus Airlines via Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the pickup at the airport on Sunday by the driver to the Nisantasi Spa Walton Hotel, the journeys from the hotel to the Centerdent dental clinic during the week, and the return trip to the airport on Saturday were excellently arranged and worked perfectly.

WhatsApp is essential. A data plan from M-Budget with 500 MB for World Zone 1 was enough for me. Google Maps with an offline map of Istanbul is a must, as well as the Pegasus app for the offline boarding pass. I recommend checking in three days in advance for both the outbound and return flights via the app. If you have done this, you can then use special counters for hand luggage in both Zurich and Istanbul. I do not speak either English or Turkish and still managed everything successfully.

Note from me: This airport is located outside Istanbul and, depending on the time of day, you should allow additional travel time (around 1–2 hours) due to traffic congestion on the roads and motorways.

The Swiss Centerdent Clinic is located in the Zorlu Center.

The Nisantasi Spa Walton Hotel is located in a lively neighbourhood in the Nisantasi district.

The nearest underground station, Osmanbey, can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. You can buy a single ticket or a three-ride ticket at the ticket machines, depending on the machine. Not every machine accepts cash in Turkish lira.

The treatments at the SwissCenterdent clinic in Istanbul carried out by Dr Dent and her team, with two assistants and three treatment rooms, as well as the treatment in Zurich by the dentist, are professional.

During the treatment in Istanbul, I was also offered a meal with lentil soup, and for the evening at the hotel – a kettle was available – food was provided for me.

In addition, there was a Migros nearby where I was able to do my shopping every day.

Migros Türk was founded in 1954 as a subsidiary of Migros Switzerland. In 2008, the Koç Group sold Migros.

I spent my free time mainly relaxing at the hotel and going on excursions in the nearby area.
