My nose correction in Istanbul- Turkey – Report from Monday, 4 September 2017
Nasen OP am 24. Juli 2017
Here I am reporting my experience with the nose surgery.
I was always picked up on time by the Acibadem hospital service and was very satisfied.
I found out about MedicalTravel online, even though I hadn’t known about it before. I think it’s fantastic that you can meet the surgeon who will be operating on you here in Switzerland and discuss everything in detail, because that helps build trust. After all, you don’t just decide to have surgery on a whim, so I found the consultation/planning appointment very helpful.
The surgery itself went well, and I didn’t experience any pain afterwards because they made sure to provide painkillers and so on. The whole service at the hospital was excellent; the nurses were always there and kept a close eye on everything. Acibadem in Maslak is a very modern hospital and very well-maintained.
I was a bit scared and very nervous about the nose surgery, but everything went great, and I actually felt very good after the surgery. Being able to see my doctor, Dr. S. Yazar, before the operation and discuss everything again helped ease my fears a little.
I can highly recommend MedicalTravel. Our hotel, Le Meridien in Istanbul, was in Etiler, so not far from the hospital. It was a really great hotel.
The pick-up service from the hospital always collected me on time from my hotel and took me back after the surgery. So, excellent service.
The person, Tolga, from Acibadem Hospital, who always welcomed me and explained and organized everything, was always available and very helpful. This meant I never had to wait long. Everything was very well organized.
Since the weather in Istanbul was so warm, I had to be careful after the surgery because my face was very swollen and bruised. But with cold packs and ice cubes from the hotel, I was able to cool it down well, so the swelling had reduced a lot after 4-5 days. So, having a nose surgery in the middle of summer is quite doable. It’s already been 6 weeks since the nose surgery, and I’m very satisfied with the result. Most of the swelling is gone, there’s still some mucus, but it already feels much better. I can breathe normally through my nose, and there are almost no more crusts forming. Of course, the inner wall of my nose is still a bit swollen, but according to my doctor, it can take up to 6 months or even a year for the nose to fully heal.
I thank MedicalTravel and the entire medical team for the whole organization.
Kind regards
