My results 5 months after my LASIK surgery in Istanbul – report from Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Good day,
Here is my final report. As you know, I had my eye laser surgery in Istanbul in May. Today, I went to see my referral doctor in Bern for the third and final time. I was treated very well and kindly by the practice and the doctor, just like I was in Istanbul. I am still more than satisfied with the results of the surgery. The referral doctor also mentioned that it was a very good result—he was happy with it and discharged me from further treatment today.
Before the surgery, I never dared to think that I could see so well afterward. Let’s just say, I didn’t even know that it was possible to see this clearly. With my glasses, I never saw this well, and I can’t remember ever seeing this clearly—maybe I’ve just forgotten how it was when I was a younger child. Now, I see very sharply, have great depth perception, everything looks much more colorful, and I have no problems at night. In the beginning, after the surgery, I still saw halos around streetlights or car lights at night, but that has also settled.
Interestingly, I am much less shy and anxious (this is not just my opinion) than before the surgery. I now have more control over certain situations because I can see more clearly. For example, I used to move a bit hesitantly, but now I can see exactly where everything is (I see more in 3D—it sounds a bit strange since I didn’t have a huge correction, but for me, it feels completely different). In physical education, I often refused to do gymnastics or floor exercises because I was too scared. Today, I understand why—I simply didn’t see well enough and couldn’t judge distances properly, which made me very insecure, and I often had to do everything without my glasses.
All in all, thank you once again for the excellent and quick consultation, the trip, the surgery, and the aftercare. I would still recommend Swisslasik to everyone.
Kind regards,
Petra Lutz
