My experience in Istanbul for Lasik surgery – Report from Sunday, October 28, 2007
WHAT, HAVE YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR SENSES? And similar.
it sounded like that when I, after my successfully completed laser surgery mind you,
told my acquaintances that I did not have the procedure performed in Switzerland
but rather had it performed in Istanbul. Admittedly I had
already had an uneasy feeling before my departure for Istanbul. My
concerns proved to be unfounded shortly after landing in Istanbul on 12 July; I immediately felt in very good hands and excellently looked after. The surgery went smoothly, although the
first 12 hours after the operation were quite unpleasant, but no
comparison to the discomfort I experienced during my 24 years with
semi-hard contact lenses. The first morning after the surgery
was simply magical and I felt like Alice in Wonderland, I saw
Istanbul with literally different eyes. The euphoria was tempered
slightly because I suffered from visual fluctuations for a few weeks
and my eyes and I first had to get used to the new condition
accustom ourselves. Headaches and sensitivity to light and problems
with age-related long-sightedness did cause me some trouble
struggle. During the follow-up examination in Switzerland, the
ophthalmologist explained to me that this was completely normal (one allows for approximately 6 months until
things have settled down) and that the eyes had been operated on perfectly.
In the meantime, 4 months have passed since the operation and my
Visual acuity is settling at 100% and the initial complaints
have practically disappeared. It does take some patience, but as
mentioned, I was happy to accept these short-term symptoms
because my quality of life has improved significantly. I
would perform the procedure AGAIN AT ANY TIME and my only regret is that
I had not had the surgery much earlier. One must
simply be aware that it may take more or less time
needed until everything has settled down. Nevertheless, I enjoy
I live every day without the hated glasses or contact lenses. THERE IS
There is no reason not to travel to Istanbul and undergo the operation
to have it carried out. I thank SWISSLASIK.CH!!!!!!
