Experience report breast augmentation in Istanbul, Turkey – Report from Monday, 3 August 2020
My experience report from 20 July 2020 in Istanbul Kadiköy, breast lift and breast augmentation above the chest muscle.
For two years, I had been considering having my breasts enlarged. Due to fitness, my body has changed significantly, and unfortunately, I also lost a lot of volume in my bust. My friend recommended MedicalTravel because her sister had her breasts done there and was very satisfied. So I gathered all my courage and scheduled a consultation on 9 June via FaceTime with Mr Kara from MedicalTravel and Assoc. Prof. Dr Kayiran, who would perform the surgery. Impressed by their positive and friendly approach, I decided to go ahead with the procedure, and a date was quickly set for the end of July 2020.
On 19 July, the day had arrived; I travelled to Istanbul accompanied by my best friend. I was very excited and full of anticipation, but also a little uncertain due to the COVID situation. The timing may not have been ideal, but I am a very optimistic person and was confident that everything would turn out well.
Upon arriving in Istanbul, we were warmly welcomed by the pick-up service. First, we went to the hospital for a blood test and the COVID test. Afterwards, we were taken to the hotel, where we were also very kindly received.
The next day, on 20 July, I was picked up punctually by the transfer service and taken to Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul, where the interpreter was already waiting for me. He accompanied me to my room, which looked more like a beautiful and clean hotel room. Before the surgery, I had another consultation with Assoc. Prof. Dr Kayiran, who explained the entire procedure in detail. Afterwards, everything happened very quickly; the nurses came and prepared everything. I thought I would be bursting with nerves, and at that point, I hadn’t received any sedatives yet! On the contrary, I was very calm and excited about my breast surgery. I was then taken to the operating theatre, and all I remember is lying there as the anaesthetist administered the anaesthesia. Afterwards, I returned to my room, still a little groggy but without any pain. The doctor and my interpreter were already there; they told me that the surgery had gone perfectly and that the doctor was very satisfied with the result.
I stayed one night under supervision in the hospital, and the next day I was allowed to leave. I had gotten through the night without any problems and otherwise felt fit enough to spend the rest of the time at the hotel with my friend.
Two days after the surgery, the two drains with collection containers were removed; it pinched a little, but afterwards I felt much better. Day by day, I improved, and after three days I stopped taking the painkillers and only took the antibiotics. The pain was bearable, feeling like a strong muscle ache. Getting out of bed was very difficult and painful; without my friend’s help, I could not have managed the first three days on my own. I was therefore very glad to have her there! The entire hotel staff was also very caring, looked after me extremely well, and fulfilled every wish.
Since it was very hot in Istanbul, I spent most of the daytime at the hotel and only went out in the evening to explore the city.
On 25 July, we travelled back to Switzerland; I had a good flight without any pain. I am more than satisfied with the result and would recommend it to anyone!
