Before the operation

For approximately two weeks before the operation, you should refrain from taking aspirin, sleeping pills, or consuming alcohol. Aspirin and other painkillers delay blood clotting.

Smokers should begin reducing their nicotine consumption as much as possible four weeks before surgery to avoid wound healing problems.

Procedure of the operation

The facelift can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia.

Shaving the hair is not necessary. I will ensure that the incisions are made in hairy areas or natural skin folds so that the scars will not be visible later.

The skin is then separated from the underlying tissues, namely muscles, fat, and connective tissue. These different tissues can now be corrected: excess fat is removed via liposuction, and muscles and connective tissue are reshaped using ultra-fine threads.

After the tissue is corrected, the facial skin is repositioned and the excess skin along the incision lines is removed. Then the wound edges are sutured.

After the operation

After the operation, you can stay in the clinic for about one to two days.

Drains are inserted to allow blood and tissue fluids to escape. A bandage will protect the head for the next two days.

Initially, your skin will feel tight, and bruising and swelling will occur.

Within approximately two weeks, the face will have healed sufficiently to allow for a normal daily routine. The stitches are removed two weeks after the procedure. The scars will fade over time.

After a few months, the final result becomes apparent. A facelift turns back the clock by several years. You will look younger, fresher, and more attractive.

Facial rejuvenation without surgery

Our genes are responsible for our physical characteristics. How does this new filler eliminate dark circles under the eyes?
The product contains hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in our bodies. Its molecular structure was specifically developed for use under the eyes. It contains a small amount of copper. The greenish tint of the copper neutralizes dark under-eye discoloration as soon as it interacts with it. A similar color-neutralizing method, also known as “light filling,” is used in professional stage makeup products. In my opinion, the real benefit of such a filler is that it offers a good alternative for sagging under the eyes and mid-face, which typically begin to appear around age 40.

What can be done to combat the aging of the eye area?
We can say that the first signs of aging become noticeable around the eyes. The eyebrows droop slightly, the upper eyelid sags, and the lower eyelid swells. The swelling of the lower eyelid is more visible when our cheeks also sag, because a deep crease forms between the cheek and the swelling of the lower eyelid. While in the past, lower eyelid surgery only addressed the swelling, today we believe that we must also lift the mid-face. This is done by inserting the endoscope through the forehead or the eyelid. If only the lower eyelid is treated, the crease under the eyes remains. The best results are achieved when lower eyelid correction is combined with a mid-face lift. There are two signs of aging that make us appear older from a distance: firstly, the accumulation of fat and sagging of the cheeks, and secondly, the formation of under-eye bags, which are particularly visible in profile.

How is the product applied to conceal under-eye bags? Will the desired result be achieved by using only this product, or is additional surgery necessary?
The product can be applied using a syringe along the crease between the under-eye bag and cheek or as a targeted injection. After injecting the filler, the area is massaged with a special roll-on applicator to smooth out any irregularities. Because the skin under the eyelid is very thin, the filler’s color softens existing dark circles. However, the filler does not eliminate the under-eye bags themselves. Instead, it creates an illusion by filling and lifting the deep crease between the eyelid and cheek. Naturally, we do not recommend this method for very advanced stages and advise patients to undergo surgery in such cases. Therefore, the product is best suited for individuals between 35 and 45 years old. Those who do not have time for lower eyelid or mid-face surgery, or who are afraid of the procedure, can opt for this method. Since under-eye bags become even more pronounced in people around the age of 50, surgery is necessary, and a mid-face lift becomes unavoidable.

Does this method rejuvenate the eye area, or are additional procedures necessary?
Essentially, light filling takes care of the difficult part of the treatment. Treatments with botulinum toxin already achieve very successful results in correcting drooping eyebrows and expression lines. The combination of filler and botulinum toxin treatment guarantees a more even result in the eye area.

How many years younger can women look through surgical removal of under-eye bags?
If the patient’s upper eyelid doesn’t droop too much, she can look around 30 after the filler and botulinum toxin injection. Sometimes this treatment needs to be combined with cheek augmentation.
