My laser eye surgery in Istanbul – report from Monday, October 29, 2007

First of all I would like to express high praise for the Eyestar team. I also want to sincerely thank Mr Karaagacli for the entire organisation; without him none of this would have been possible.

The planning was carried out from Zurich. First I had to go to the ophthalmologist for a preliminary examination to see if my eyes were suitable for laser treatment. (I had -8.0 and -9.5 dioptres)

I did not have to make any contribution to the organisation, as Mr Karaagacli organised everything for me. (Hotel, flight and appointments at the clinic)

When we, my daughter and I, landed in Istanbul, we were warmly received by Birol, who speaks very good German. He then took us to our hotel, which is located 20 kilometres from the airport.

The walk from the hotel to the clinic takes approximately 1 minute.

The next day we were picked up from the hotel by Fred, who speaks very good and fluent Swiss German. He showed us the clinic, where we were greeted very warmly. The atmosphere in the clinic was great, the staff very friendly. I immediately felt in safe hands with Eyestar.

The preliminary examination took a while but it went smoothly and the surgeon scheduled the operation for 14:00.

When the time finally came, I was not nervous at all. On the contrary, I was actually looking forward to the operation very much. Fred, who accompanied me throughout, gave me a feeling of security.

During the preparation for the surgery, the surgeon explained in English everything that was happening at that moment, and Fred translated everything the surgeon said. During the operation I felt nothing at all and even afterwards I had no pain. It is unbelievable but true!

After the operation, the surgeon examined my eyes again and checked my visual range. I could hardly believe it; I could see everything without glasses and without lenses.

The next day we had to go to the clinic again for a follow-up examination. Everything was perfect; I had 100% vision.

After the follow-up examination, Birol was waiting for us at the clinic; he showed us the city and some sights and accompanied us to the bazaar. A truly great service!

The next day Birol picked us up at the hotel and took us to the airport in the early hours of the morning. We landed back in Zurich on time after our stay in Istanbul. But there was one difference: I had two new eyes.

I have already done a lot of advertising for you among my circle of friends, because there cannot be a better service or more competence! And all that at this price! From the first email until today, I felt excellently advised by you; everything was perfectly organised, and I had the certainty the whole time that I was in the best professional hands.
