It all began in high school… – Report from Friday, May 16, 2008
It all began in secondary school. Suddenly, I could no longer read what was written on the blackboard. It was clear then that I needed glasses. Unfortunately, my vision continued to deteriorate. At some point, I decided to wear contact lenses. Since my eyes are very sensitive, it took about six months until I found lenses that I could wear. Everything went well at first. However, eventually, various bouts of conjunctivitis began. These were very unpleasant and painful. Ultimately, I was totally annoyed and frustrated. I simply did not feel comfortable with glasses. When I then saw the report on television, it was clear to me that this had to be the solution to my problem.
First, I informed myself on the internet. I came across www.swisslasik.ch. I immediately ordered an information pack. To my surprise, I received it only two days later. I began studying it straight away. As I had a few additional questions, I contacted Mr Karaagacli-Leoni by email. It did not take long before I had the answers to my questions. This showed me that I was in the right place.
On 30 April 2008, I was already on my way to Istanbul by plane. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel.
On 01 May 2008, I was picked up from the hotel early in the morning and taken to the Eyestar Clinic. I was given a very warm welcome there.
The preliminary examinations began immediately. Afterwards, I had a consultation with the doctor. He explained the situation and which method would be used. If you had any further questions, you were able to ask them.
Later, I went up one floor. The operating theatre was located there. I was slowly becoming nervous. The nurse made every effort to calm me down. Finally, the moment arrived. The surgery doors opened and the procedure began. After about 10 minutes, it was all over. To my astonishment, I had no pain whatsoever. My eyes were merely watering a little. Afterwards, we were allowed to rest on the large loungers. After about 10 minutes, we were given drops. The watering stopped and I could see well. Completely surprised, I then went back downstairs for the follow-up examination. Afterwards, I went to the hotel and rested. I woke up after four hours. I could hardly believe it, but my vision was perfect. I could see everything, and without any visual aids. It was a wonderful feeling.
I can only highly recommend the procedure. I feel completely comfortable without glasses.
In addition, a huge amount of praise for the whole team! I felt very comfortable in the clinic!
