Finally smiling again thanks to veneers in Istanbul – Report from Wednesday, 7 February 2018

My girlfriend and I had been interested in veneers for a long time and had always researched on the internet and made enquiries in many places. Having veneers done in Switzerland was not an option for us, as it is simply far too expensive.

At some point we came across MedicalTravel and arranged a consultation in Zug. After the discussion with the interpreter and the dentist, we decided to take this step.

We booked the flight and hotel ourselves, although Mr Kara from MedicalTravel would also have taken care of this. When we arrived in Istanbul, the transfer service from the Acibadem Hospital was already waiting for us at the airport.

They then took us to the hotel. The next morning we were picked up again and taken to the Acibadem Hospital. The first day is actually the most effective one. Our teeth were treated, slightly ground down and then an impression was taken and sent to the laboratory so that our veneers could be made. In the end we received temporary teeth. It was not exactly pleasant, but we never had any pain. In addition, at the end we were able to choose which colour we wanted for our veneers.

With the temporary teeth we simply had to be careful not to eat anything too hard, as they are not fixed very firmly so that they can be removed more easily later.

We then had a few days to explore Istanbul. We visited various places and saw different sights, such as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, the Bosphorus, etc. We also did a tour with the Big Bus, which is really recommendable, as you get to see a lot and everything is explained to you.

On Thursday we were able to go for a trial fitting of our veneers to check that everything was correct. The next day our veneers were then fixed onto our teeth. This is again done under anaesthetic. After each tooth was individually attached and I looked in the mirror for the first time, I could hardly believe it. My veneers were so beautiful. My teeth, especially the lower ones, had been very crooked before, but none of that can be seen anymore – simply incredible.

On Saturday we went back to the Acibadem Hospital once more to check with our dentist that everything was fine. My girlfriend still had to have an impression taken of her new teeth so that a night guard could be made, as she grinds her teeth. And with that, we were already finished.

This week went by incredibly quickly. The interpreter spoke perfect German and looked after us very well. We were absolutely thrilled with our dentist, Mrs Özge Öztürk. She does her job brilliantly and with a great deal of passion.

We can only recommend everyone to have their teeth done with MedicalTravel. The prices and quality are excellent. In addition, Istanbul is a very exciting city. It is great for shopping and the food was good everywhere. We will definitely go back.
