MY BREAST IMPLANT SURGERY IN ISTANBUL – Report from Saturday, 31st March 2018

My Experience Report from 6th February 2018 in Istanbul – Breast Augmentation Under the Muscle / Surgeon Dr. Soner Tatlidede

I am 35 years old and have a son. Due to pregnancy and breastfeeding, my breasts have suffered. It had been clear to me for a while that I would undergo a procedure sooner or later. Over the past two years, I have repeatedly thought about this issue.

I came across MedicalTravel through my sister and had my first (dental) treatment in Istanbul at Acibadem Fulya with Dr. Öztürk in 2017. I was very satisfied and impressed. That’s why I also decided to go for the breast procedure in Istanbul. I immediately signed up for a consultation in October 2017.

Eagerly, I went with my husband, and even with my friend and her husband, to the meeting. My friend had always wanted a breast augmentation, and her husband needed a dental treatment. After the consultation with the doctors, they were both absolutely thrilled and decided to have their treatments in Istanbul as well.

We were warmly welcomed. During the consultation with Dr. Tatlidede, an interpreter was present. The doctor examined me and explained in detail what would be done, how, etc. All our questions were answered competently. I already set a provisional date for early February 2018 during the consultation. I was very convinced that I wanted to have the procedure done there. A week later, I officially signed up for the surgery on 6th February 2018. I was very excited but not nervous at all. We traveled as a group of three – my friend and her husband. All three of us had to stay in Istanbul for a week, which worked out perfectly. It was great to have that support. I wouldn’t have done this treatment alone because the pain in the first week is quite intense, and you really need support.

On 4th February, the day had arrived! We were warmly welcomed at the airport and then taken to the hotel. I think it’s great that there’s an Acibadem Point at the airport.

We booked a small, modern hotel in Taksim ourselves. It was very close to Acibadem Hospital and just a 2-minute walk to the shopping street. On 5th February 2018, we were picked up by the driver at 7:30 AM. We were welcomed at the hospital and immediately met the interpreter, who was a very lovely young lady.

The process began right away with the blood test, a discussion about the general anesthesia, and a consultation with the surgeon, Dr. Soner Tatlidede. He took photos of my breasts, measured everything, tried on different implant sizes, and explained everything to us once again in detail. In a short time, he had earned my trust.

The surgery took place the next day at 9:00 AM. I was taken to a beautiful, large room with a great view, where I filled out some general questions. After that, the anesthesiologist came, prepared everything, and I had to change into the gown and head covering before lying down on the bed.

I said goodbye to my friend, and the surgery began. My friend was also operated on after my procedure, so we could support each other throughout the entire time. I still wasn’t nervous. I only remember taking the elevator, and then, hours later, when I woke up, everything was already over.

I was then taken to my room. The surgery was successful. I was lying in bed with my new breasts, wearing a special bra and an elastic bandage on top, and I had an IV drip. I was still very tired and in pain. I was given pain medication right away, and after that, I felt much better. That same day, I was also allowed to visit my friend in her room with an escort, as I was still recovering from the general anesthesia.
I got through the night in the hospital well. Every hour, a nurse came to check on my breasts and my condition. I was really impressed by the care I received.

The next day at noon, we were discharged from the hospital and taken to the hotel. You’re quite restricted, and of course, there’s pain! It felt like an extremely intense muscle soreness. The night at the hotel wasn’t great. I didn’t know how to sleep. In the hospital, the bed could be adjusted up and down, but that wasn’t possible in the hotel. Then, there were these two drains under my armpits through which blood was still draining. They were painful and uncomfortable. The first three days were the hardest, but after that, it really gets better. Each day, it improved, with less pain.
Since it was impossible to wash my hair myself, I found a hairdresser and treated myself. I took the medication I was given at the hospital regularly.

During this time, I had two more check-ups, and on the last day, the drains were removed. The doctor was satisfied with the results. I had to continue wearing the special bra with the bandage for another three weeks, and after that, I switched to a sports bra with the bandage. The pain gradually decreased, and I felt less restricted each day.

Now, almost two months have passed, and I have no pain anymore. I’m taking care of the scar with cream. I’m super satisfied; the size and everything else fit perfectly with my body. Dr. Soner Tatlidede will be in Switzerland on 28th April 2018 and will hold consultation days. This is perfect for a follow-up check and further consultation.

For anyone who is still unsure and afraid of having a procedure done in Istanbul, I hope I’ve been able to ease your concerns and convince you. I would do it there again without hesitation because they are just excellent.
