My Experience Report on Breast Surgery on 6th October 2023 (Breast Lift/ Enlargement with Implants)

After many years of dissatisfaction, I decided to gift myself a breast lift and restoration of my beautiful C-cup for my 40th birthday. Five years ago, a good friend sent me the link to Medical Travel GmbH, and I have kept it all these years.

Last year, I set the “ball rolling,” took some photos, and sent them over. The first consultation took place with Prof. Dr. Kayiran and an interpreter. He advised me, informing me about what it would take to fulfill my wish and wear a beautiful C-cup again. During this conversation, he addressed my needs and answered all my questions.

Then everything happened very quickly, and the surgery date was set for 6th October 2023. I planned my stay in Istanbul with my sister, so we organised the flight and accommodation ourselves. However, the transfers to and from the airport, to the accommodation, and to the clinic were all arranged by Medical Travel GmbH. On the day of the surgery, we were picked up, and the interpreter explained the schedule for the day during the drive. She also helped me with the registration at the clinic.

Then I was taken to my room, where blood tests and an ECG were done. I was fitted with compression stockings, and the anesthesiologist came for the surgery discussion. Then, Prof. Dr. Kayiran arrived and marked the surgery area. He explained every step in detail, so I never felt uncomfortable. The interpreter stayed by my side the whole time and exuded an incredible sense of calm.

I arrived at the clinic around 9:30 AM, and by 12:00 PM, I was already in surgery. Everything went super quickly without long waiting times. The interpreter accompanied me all the way to the operating room, so I could ask any last questions. At 3:30 PM, I woke up, and it was all over.

The first look under the blanket was amazing. I had to stay in the recovery room for about an hour before I was finally brought back to my room. I felt really good after the surgery, had no issues from the anesthesia, and was able to get up fairly quickly, have something to drink, and by around 6:00 PM, finally eat. I really appreciated that my sister was waiting for me and was there for me. I would recommend this to everyone – don’t do something like this alone, and let a loved one accompany you.

Of course, I was exhausted and in pain, and the first night was definitely no walk in the park. I woke up regularly because I had really strong pain. However, the kind nurse took great care of me and tried to ease the pain with medication. My blood pressure was also measured regularly. Since I don’t speak English fluently, and not all the staff at the clinic could, we communicated using Google Translate.

On Saturday, Prof. Dr. Kayiran came for the follow-up check, the IV was removed, and I was able to go home. What was really great was that the driver picked up the medications that the doctor had prescribed for me.

On Saturday and Sunday, I was really limited in terms of pain and movement, needing a lot of rest to recover from the anesthesia. I was incredibly grateful that my sister was there. She helped me get up, dress, and was my emotional rock. On Monday, I had the follow-up appointment, which took about 10 minutes. Prof. Dr. Kayiran was pleased with the result and gave me the green light to go “back to freedom.”

The first week was a bit of a challenge because you’re really limited and in pain. What really impressed me, though, is how quickly you start feeling better. You can do a little more each day and have fewer complaints. Of course, the body needs to adjust to the implants, and the wounds need time to heal, but overall, 1.5 weeks after the surgery, I feel really good. Of course, I’m still limited and can’t/do certain things (sports, lifting arms overhead, carrying heavy things, etc.), but I’m managing that really well right now 🙂.

I can only recommend the surgery to any woman who doesn’t feel comfortable. Don’t torment yourself for years if you’re not happy with your breasts.

Best regards,
Sarah Villigens
