My experience report on FUE hair transplantation in Istanbul with MedicalTravel – Report from Wednesday, 28 October 2015
In June, I attended an information day in Bern, where the entire process was explained to me. At first, I was very skeptical and searched through the entire internet. However, Dr. Demirkan provided me with the information I needed in a very friendly manner. After that, I booked right away, and just 3 months later, it was time to go.
I flew from Zurich to Istanbul on 27th September 2015, and as agreed, I was warmly picked up at the airport and driven to the hotel.
On 28th September 2015, I walked to the hospital at 9:00 AM. By the way, the hotel was only 200 meters away from the Acibadem hospital, so it was easily accessible on foot. Upon arriving at the hospital, I was greeted by a lady (interpreter), who then took me to Dr. Demirkan. We discussed the entire process of the FUE procedure. Afterward, he began measuring my hair with a device and assessing where the new hair would be implanted. Then, I was taken to the room where the PRP treatment began.
In the afternoon, I had some free time and went to explore the beautiful city of Istanbul.
As the day before, I walked to the hospital at 9:00 AM on 29th September 2015. Upon arriving, a gentleman was playing relaxing music on the piano at the reception, which already helped calm me down.
The procedure began with a female doctor taking blood samples, and then she accompanied me to the room where the treatment would take place. Three doctors approached me and introduced themselves. Afterward, they marked the hairline to show me where they would be implanting the hair. I was able to choose the line freely, and it was drawn out. They also gave me recommendations based on their own experience, suggesting how to make the result as natural and unobtrusive as possible.
Then it started. My hair on the head was completely shaved, and I received a few injections for anesthesia. These felt very similar to the usual injections, just with minimal sensation. Apart from the injections, I felt nothing during the entire procedure—absolutely nothing. The hair transplant took a total of 5 hours, and they implanted 3000 grafts.
The treatment went smoothly and without pain, and the time passed very quickly. There were three people involved in the procedure. A TV was also running in the background, although it was hard to watch from the lying position.
After the FUE, I was taken back to the hotel to rest, and I had no pain at all.
The next day, 30th September 2015, I had an appointment at 11:00 AM to have the bandage on the back of my head changed. At 2:00 PM, I was driven to the airport to fly back home.
I would definitely do the treatment again with MedicalTravel in Istanbul. Everything went according to plan, and I had zero pain. The result looks great so far. The Acibadem hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities (like a luxury hotel), the staff was very friendly, hygiene was top-notch, and the pick-up service worked without any issues.
Once I arrived home, I waited for 3 days and then started gently washing the new hair with the lotion and shampoo.
I repeated this for 10 days. The scabs were completely gone, and I only had a very small redness in the transplanted area. The donor area had almost fully healed, and due to the growing hair, you can hardly see anything anymore.
I had imagined the FUE treatment to be much more painful and worse. I never experienced any pain, and everything went according to plan. Now, 4 weeks have already passed, and the transplanted hairs are starting to fall out. I’m looking forward to the final result, but I’m already convinced that it will turn out great.
Thank you very much for the excellent support, and I would recommend MEDICALTRAVEL and the FUE treatment to anyone. Best regards, Marco S.
